This weekend, monks and volunteers began the ascent up Meads Mountain Road to Karma Triyana Dharmachakra (KTD) where they will help with the final preparations for Kagyu Monlam. On Sunday morning, guests can attend a ceremonial unveiling of a bronze plaque of the Ven. Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche. Later, there will be a luncheon for approximately fifteen Korean monks and students who will be visiting KTD.
Monks and volunteers will continue to stream in on Monday, settling in before the event's opening on Tuesday. There is much enthusiasm and energy in the air as KTD staff and volunteers attend to all the details involved in orchestrating the first North American Kagyu Monlam.
